So a few weekends ago my parents came up to visit.. and i was thinkin “ok maybe Cory will talk to my dad about takin my hand in marriage”. However after the parents left, Cory told me he was sad he didnt get a chance to talk to my dad.. and i was thinking “really!??”. We then started looking at rings... and just when i least expected it, he proposed!

Let me back up... friday night i was scheduled to work until 8. At about quarter to 6 a co-worker of mine asked if she could take my shift for the rest of night, and of course i let her, it was a friday night!!! (soon to find out cory got work off for me.. sneaky cory!) So i called Cor and told him the news and he said 'great, im at subway let me grab you a sand which then we can go have a picnik or somethin..' (little did i know..) :) So, he drives up to this pretty lookout point of the city where he took me on our very first date, grabbed me by the hand, got down on one knee, told me he loved me, wanted to marry me, pulled out a ring, and i said YYYEEESSS, and now we are engaged and we have never been happier!!!

On Saturday May 1, 2010 we will be sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa AZ temple.

All my life i have dreamed of my prince charming, and i finally found him!! Who would have thought that when i moved up here almost a year ago, that i would find Cory and i would be engaged! ahh its still all so surreal to me but i am loving every minute of it! :) I have never felt this way, and yes... i am very much madly in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*As of late...*

So this is my life as of late..

Cory, work, books, Cory, American Idol, Cory, Cory, The Bachelor, Work, Cory..... haha ;) gotta love it!!

Last friday night i set up one of my friends with one of Cory's friends.. I had not seen this girl in so long and it was so much fun to hang out with her again!! We went to Benton Paul's concert in provo, it was so much fun listening to acoustic guitar music!

I met this girl at EFY almost 4 years ago.. everytime we get back together its always a blast!

After the concert we went to a get together and watched a movie... we totally didn't plan the matching stripes haha

such a fun night!! Even though Ammon ran over and killed a cat... ;) I am still lovin life and am still lovin my boy!! I have never had so much fun in all my life and i have never been so happy!

The other day the paynes came up to drop Josh off at the MTC. He is going to Australia and i am so excited for him! It was so great seeing their family and seeing josh one more time! Best of luck to him!

i cant believe he is leavin already! Life goes by so fast, i am learning to live life to the fullest and embrace every moment!

* Surprise Wknd! *

So mom and dad came up to surprise Landon for his birthday this last weekend! We had so much fun and i wish it wasn't over!! I miss my family and i miss having them around all the time!

When they first got here they came to my work and got their hair done, it was fun having them see where i am everyday!

While we were there, i got a singing telegram from members of the mountain view high school choir! It was adorable!! Everyone that was at the salon stopped to watch, it was so cute!

Later that night we all met at tapenyaki and thats when Landon saw our parents for the first time, he was so suprised!

After dinner we went to a movie, and the theatre was completely empty when we got out, creepy!!

Saturday morning they went and did a temple session at the Mount Timpanogos temple. I felt so left out! :( ha ha But i am so glad that they invited cory and that he got to spend a lot of time with my family this weekend! And i am even more glad that my family approves!!

We met up for lunch at mimi's cafe...

Did some shopping which the boys loved..

Went to a museum to kill time..

Went to the BYU bball game..

And finished the night with Styles P and Elmer beating everyone in bowling! :)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

And happy birthday dad and landon!! This weekend was so much fun!! I can't wait to see everyon again!

*Worst day ever...*

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing goes right? When it can’t stop at jut one thing going wrong? Well today was one of those days... after talking to my mom and having her tell me that “out of all the times you have called and said it was your worst day ever, this one definitely hits the top!”, i had to agree!

My day started off great. Woke up right on time, made it to work in time, and stayed real busy the first few hours and was making good money!

It was about 12:30 when this 17 yr old girl walked in and wanted to do an all over solid color. So im thinkin.. easy! (Little did i know...) I took her back to my chair, did a consultation, quoted her a price, and got to work! Her hair was black and she wanted to be a light brown.. now for those of you that don’t do hair it’s really hard to get someone that light from that dark, the only way to do it is bleaching it. So i did a bleach cap on her which means i put bleach all over her hair and sat her under the dryer. Usaully this takes about 20 min, but of course her hair was being dificult and after an hour and 15 she was finally ready. So the bleach lifted the color to an orange which is what it was supposed to do, then you throw the color she wants over that. (hope this is making sense :)) Now i had never done this type of corrective color before so of course all this time i had my co-workers helping me. I then put an ash based color over that because the ash cancels out the orange... after her 30 minutes of processing was up i rinsed her out and... well... her hair was GREEN!!!!

Ya, i know... awful... so the mom comes over and says “um i see green” and im thinkin “no kidding lady im not color blind!” So i explaind to them what happened and tried to tell them again that going that dark that she was to how light she wanted would be a process... blah blah blah whatever! So after the mom is done yelling at me i went to the back to mix up another color... however when i was walking back i accidently ran into the shelves that contained all the retail product.. and i must have hit it pretty dang hard, because the product flew everywhere and about 150-200 dollars worth of prodcut shattered and spilled all of the floor....

Need i also remind you that this is on a saturday when hair salons are always super busy... so imagine all the clients watching me turn a girls hair green and spill product everywhere, they were all probably thinking “hope she doesn’t do my hair!” To make matters worse, the majority of the product i spilled was called a smoothing serum which, ladies, as you know its the product that is really oily and illiminates frizz. This product is oil based, and so think of how oil is on tile... really really slippery.. Right after i spilled it everywhere, an old man walked across and slipped and fell into the other product shelf, and that product went flying everywhere as well.. oh dear.. at this point im in the back crying wishing i could run away!!!!! But it doesn’t stop there, one of the stylists slips and falls all the way to the ground and gets hurt so she left early from work. So now we have injured clients, injured stylists, chemically injured 17 yr old girl and emtionally injured me. Sigh...

On the plus side after 4 and half hours i got miss green hair out the door with a gorgeous color that she loved. We tried to contact the owner all day to help clean it up but she never answered, so im dreading telling her what happened as you can imagine! But if anyone ever wants green hair i know how now!! Or if you have green hair and want to get rid of it i can do that too! The best part about this lovely experience i had today was when Cory came in and surprised me with a drink and my favorite candy...

What a sweet boyfriend i have!! Thanks cory! :) But the silly boy he is had to make a scene when he came in and walked across my mess i made and announced to everyone “wow its really slippery”... haha oh what fun we have together :)

Hopefully i will never have another day like this! I am so relieved the days over!!

*Cory and I!*

it was a wed afternoon and i was cuttin away at work! Usually at work all the stylists take turns answering the phone but for whatever reason i was the only one doing that job, and for whatever reason the phone was ringing off the hook! After answering the phone at least 3 times, i was done talking to people so when it rang the 4th time i was just a little perturbed! But i answered the phone and had an interesting conversation with the guy on the other line. The conversation went a little somethin sometin like this..

me: fantastic sams in orem this is lacey how can i help you

guy: is marie working today?

me: no

guy: well is there anyone else that is good at cutting hair there?

me: of course!

guy: are you good?

me: of course!

guy: how long have you been cutting hair?

me: 2 years

guy: do you like it?

me: um duh of course!

guy: so when i come in can you cut my hair?

me: sure i guess!

guy: k my name is cory and im comin in in a few minutes!

..So after i hung up the phone i was nervous because whenever people go to a certain stylist and have for so long to get their hair done, they are usually really particular with how its cut. So i was not looking forward to cutting some picky guys hair who apparently is a smooth talker by the way he sounded on the phone! UGH! 5 minutes later he walked in the door and (u will have to ask him to tell this part of the story :)) but long story short he ended up getting his hair cut by me, and after quite a bit of flirting on both parts he ended up with my number, 3 days later took me on a date and now we have been dating for 3 1/2 weeks! :)

I took him with me down to AZ for thanksgiving to meet the family and we had so much fun! He couldn’t believe how warm it was down there in November and i couldn’t believe i moved away from it!! Thanksgiving morning we went and did the turkey trot! Everyone ran the 2 mile except for Logan who is a stud and ran the 10k and ended up getting 16th out of 4,000 runners, and 2nd place in his age group!!
